Welcome to Lasting Light Films.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services. By visiting our website, submitting a contact form, booking a consultation, making a payment, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
Lasting Light Films (“Lasting Light Films,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides remote memorial, tribute, and legacy film services.
Our services may include story consultations, remote interviews, video editing, photo and home-video integration, AI photo animation, AI-generated narration, music selection, digital delivery, private screening links, and related creative services.
Our website is intended to provide information about our services and allow potential clients to contact us or book a consultation.
We offer the following memorial and legacy film packages:
All prices are in USD. Essential Tribute is $600 for its stated scope. Other package prices are starting prices. The final scope, price, timeline, materials, versions, and delivery format will be agreed before work begins. Additional requests are quoted separately and require agreement before additional work proceeds.
AI photo animation and narration
Photo animation and AI-generated narration are optional features included within each package's stated scope. We agree on the selected photos and narration text with you before producing these elements. AI animation creates interpreted movement from a still image. AI narration uses a selected synthetic narrator and an approved script. We use third-party services to produce these elements, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You may book an initial consultation through our website's booking link, email, WhatsApp, or another contact method we provide.
A consultation does not create a binding paid project unless we both agree to proceed with a service and payment terms.
During the consultation, we may discuss your timeline, the person the film is for, the type of film you want, available materials, and possible next steps.
We reserve the right to decline a project if we believe we are not the right fit, if the timeline is not possible, or if the requested content is inappropriate, unlawful, misleading, or outside the scope of our services.
Before starting a paid project, we may provide a written summary, invoice, proposal, order confirmation, or agreement describing the project scope.
The project scope may include:
Only items clearly included in the agreed scope are included in the price.
Additional requests may require additional fees.
To complete your project, you agree to:
Delays in providing materials, feedback, approvals, or payments may delay the final delivery date.
You confirm that you own, control, or have permission to use all photos, videos, audio, music suggestions, text, stories, documents, and other materials you provide to us.
You give us a limited license to use, edit, reproduce, adapt, and combine these materials only as needed to provide the services, create your film, and deliver agreed project files.
You remain responsible for any claims related to materials you provide, including claims involving copyright, privacy, publicity rights, image rights, or consent from family members or other participants.
If your project includes remote interviews, we may record video, audio, and related interview materials.
We use interview recordings to create your film and related deliverables.
We will inform participants that the interview is being recorded before recording begins.
Interview participants may choose not to answer a question or may stop participating at any time.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, raw interview recordings are not included as a standard deliverable and may be available as a paid add-on.
We may use licensed, royalty-free, or properly cleared music and creative assets in your film.
If you request a specific song, recording, image, clip, or other copyrighted material, we may not be able to use it unless the proper rights or licenses are available.
You are responsible for any materials you provide or specifically request us to use, unless we agree in writing that we will handle licensing.
We may refuse to use music, footage, images, or other content if we believe it may create copyright, privacy, or legal issues.
Lasting Light Films provides a creative service. You understand that storytelling, pacing, music selection, editing, visuals, and structure involve creative judgment.
We will make reasonable efforts to follow the tone, direction, and goals agreed with you, but we cannot guarantee that every creative preference will be included exactly as requested.
We aim to create a respectful, thoughtful, and high-quality film based on the materials, interviews, timeline, and scope available.
Essential Tribute includes 1 revision round. Memorial Edit includes 2 revision rounds. Legacy Tribute and Family Documentary Tribute include unlimited revision rounds within the agreed film scope until you approve the final version.
A revision round means one collected set of requested changes submitted after reviewing a version of the film. Revisions may include replacing or removing selected photos or clips, correcting names or dates, adjusting titles, trimming sections, refining pacing, and making other adjustments within the agreed direction and deliverables.
New interviews, a new creative concept, additional films, or other changes that expand the agreed scope are quoted separately and require agreement before work proceeds. For Essential Tribute and Memorial Edit, revision rounds beyond the included allowance are also quoted and agreed separately.
We agree on feedback and revision timing with you. Delayed feedback may change the delivery schedule. For packages with unlimited revisions, there is no numerical cap on included revision rounds within the agreed scope before final approval.
Changes requested after final approval are handled under Section 19.
Final films are usually delivered digitally through a download link, private viewing link, cloud storage folder, or another agreed method.
Delivery formats may include MP4 files or other standard digital video formats.
We are not responsible for technical issues caused by your device, internet connection, venue equipment, projector, TV, sound system, or third-party platform.
If the film will be played at a memorial service or event, we recommend testing the file in advance on the exact device or venue equipment.
For Essential Tribute, we provide the first completed film within 24 hours of the agreed production start, once we have received the required materials, story details, approvals, and payment. Its included revision takes place after your feedback; we agree on the revision timing with you.
Timelines depend on:
For Memorial Edit, Legacy Tribute, and Family Documentary Tribute, we agree on the production schedule before starting, based on the materials, interviews, and project requirements. Any additional rush service is agreed and priced separately before work begins. Essential Tribute's stated one-day first-film turnaround is included in its $600 price.
We will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed deadlines, especially for memorial-service dates, but we are not responsible for delays caused by late materials, missed interviews, delayed feedback, payment delays, third-party platform issues, or events outside our reasonable control.
Essential Tribute is $600 for the stated package scope. Prices shown for Memorial Edit, Legacy Tribute, and Family Documentary Tribute are starting prices. We confirm your project's price before work begins. Any additional scope, deliverables, or paid revision rounds must be quoted and agreed before the additional work proceeds.
Payment terms will be confirmed before the project begins.
We may require:
Unless otherwise agreed, project work begins only after the required payment or deposit has been received.
Late or failed payments may delay the project.
If a deposit is required, it reserves production time and allows us to begin planning, communication, file organization, interview preparation, and other project work.
Deposits may be non-refundable once work has started, unless otherwise required by applicable law or agreed in writing.
You may cancel a project by contacting us in writing.
Refund eligibility depends on the stage of the project.
As a general guideline:
Any refund, if applicable, will be determined based on work completed, project stage, expenses incurred, and applicable law.
We may cancel or refuse a project if:
If we cancel a project without cause after payment, we will provide a fair refund for work not yet performed.
Because our services are custom, personal, and creative, refunds are limited.
We do not guarantee refunds based only on subjective creative preference if the project was completed according to the agreed scope.
However, we care deeply about client satisfaction and will make reasonable efforts to address concerns through included revisions.
Refunds are not available for:
This refund policy does not limit any consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
If you are a consumer located in Estonia, the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with distance-contract cancellation rights, you may have a legal right to withdraw from a distance contract within a certain period, often 14 days.
If you ask us to begin work during the withdrawal period, you may be required to acknowledge that:
This section does not limit any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
We provide a completed version of the film for your review before final approval. Your package's included revision allowance applies during this review process. Unlimited revisions for Legacy Tribute and Family Documentary Tribute continue within the agreed scope until you approve the final version. Further changes requested after final approval may be quoted separately.
You are responsible for carefully reviewing names, dates, spelling, captions, photo choices, and other details before approval.
We are not responsible for errors in final files that were present in a draft you approved, unless we separately agree to correct them.
We will not publicly use your film, photos, interview recordings, family materials, testimonial, or project details for marketing, portfolio, social media, ads, or examples unless you give us permission.
If you give permission, you may later request removal from platforms we control. We will make reasonable efforts to remove the materials, but we cannot guarantee removal from third-party platforms or copies already shared by others.
We understand that memorial and legacy films may involve sensitive personal stories and family materials.
We will treat your project materials with care and confidentiality.
We may share materials only with trusted team members, contractors, or service providers who need access to complete the project.
We cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality for information sent through email, messaging apps, cloud platforms, video-call tools, or third-party services.
We may store project materials during production and for a reasonable period after delivery.
Storage allows us to complete revisions, provide support, and respond to future requests.
We are not required to store raw materials, project files, drafts, or final films indefinitely.
You are responsible for downloading and safely backing up your final film after delivery.
If you request recovery or re-delivery after our standard storage period, we may not be able to provide it, or additional fees may apply.
